Advice for an interesting fantasy baseball league...

There are 12 teams, and I have the last pick in the first round and the first pick in the 2nd round. It's a 10 league keeper but there's a few special keeper rules.

Any player can be drafted in the first round, and once everyone has drafted their first round pick, THEN we choose our 10 keepers before continuing to the 2nd round and so on.

We also have to keep at least 4 offensive and 4 pitchers and then the other 2 doesn't matter.

Here's my team from last year:

Robinson Cano,
Joe Crede,
Ryan Garko,
Curtis Granderson,
Matsui,
Podsednik,
Posada,
Pudge,
Sheffield,
Thome,
Delmon Young
(no SS I dropped one at the end of the season)

Bonderman,
Burnett,
Chacin,
Garland,
Harden,
Mussina,
Joe Nelson,
CC Sabathia,
Santana,
Street,
Wang,
Jered Weaver.

Also keep in mind I have a STRONG feeling Santana is going with the first pick so don't include him as a keeper because he'll be gone.

Also one other note outfield you need LF, CF, and RF. Thanks so much and I look forward to subscribing to your site.

Thanks,

Matt

Does the 12th pick indicate that you won your league in 2006? I hope so...

You are correct that Santana will definitely be gone by the 12th pick. You will get a quality player with your 1st round pick, but he probably won’t be as dominant as Johan Santana.

After your first round pick, I would suggest keeping the following players:

Robinson Cano
Curtis Granderson
Hideki Matsui
Jim Thome
Gary Sheffield

Jeremy Bonderman
Rich Harden
CC Sabathia
Huston Street
Jered Weaver

You have a lot of good choices for you flex keepers, but it would be hard to forfeit the Top 100 value of Sheffield and Weaver for one of the other players.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice. I found out a little bit of information of who's going where in the first round. If those who read this didn't notice, there's 12 teams split up 6-6. 6 in the AL and 6 in the NL.

Santana, Halladay, Crawford will def. be taking in the first round. Then there's rumors of Mauer, Morneau, and Sizemore that have a chance to go. I have the 6th and final pick in the first round. I have no SS from my last years roster which means Young and Jeter peek my interest. Then I question how did AROD fall to me.

Keep the advice coming.
