Every magazine will be posting information about young hitters to consider during your 2008 Fantasy Baseball Drafts.
Remember, most rookies carry more risk than value, and often the best rookie are guys that aren't even on a major league roster to start the season, such as Ryan Braun for the 2007 Milwuakee Brewers. Braun had a great spring, but the Brewers still sent him to the minors to start 2007, so depending on your league, you had to win the Free Agent bidding for him, when the Brewers decided to call him u to the majors.
Here is how I'd rank the young hitters who have less than 150 at-bats for the 2008 Fantasy Baseball Season, based on skills and projected playing time:
1) Jacoby Ellsbury, BOS, OF
2) Cameron Maybin, FLA, OF
3) Geovany Soto, CHN, C
4) Joey Votto, CIN, 1B
5) Michael Bourn, HOU, OF
6) Daric Barton, OAK, 1B
7) Ryan Sweeney, OAK,OF
And, if you want to consider a JapaneseAll-Star as a rookie, then you need to add Kosuke Fukudome, CHN, OF to the list.
I'm sure once spring traing starts, there will be others added to the list. Feel free to add your opinions or favorite rookie hitters to this thread..
