None of these players should make your starting lineup in week 1, with the exception of Joey Galloway and Cadillac Williams at the “swing” position in leagues of 14+ teams.
Most “experts” have decided that these aging veterans aren’t worth a draft selection; however, at one time, many of the players were All-Pro caliber and were counted on by fantasy football owners to produce 10+ each week. The players rebonding from an injury plagued season or a system incompaible with their talents could be big surprises in 2009, if they end up in a good situation.
I would consider these players deep sleepers who are worth a gamble during the last few rounds in your fantasy football draft. If you are lucky, you might get one or two big scoring weeks out of one of them during your bye week rotations or against favorable team mchups.
On a closing note, if you haven’t given my draft system a try yet, take a look at the user guide. The grading system I use to rank players allows you to easily compare players across multiple positions allowing you to draft a balanced fantasy football team in 2009.
